摘要
The main objective of this study is to develop an effective manufacturing technique for near-net Y-shape hybrid frame structure of 308L stainless steel in wire arc additive manufacturing process. To do so, several strategies like heat distribution strategy coupled with material property-based time delay technique using mathematical models and tool path optimization were adopted. The obtained results showed that combined strategies are able to generate minimal thermal distortion in the deposited structure. However, minor deviation (∼4.5%) in between the designed and as-deposited structure was observed which can be corrected by the post-deposition machining processes. The microstructure of the structure mainly consists of ∼ 86% austenitic matrix and ∼ 14% δ-ferrite which is segregated at the austenitic grain boundaries. The distribution of microstructural constituents were homogeneous and no defects was observed throughout the deposited component which shows the impact of good thermal management while the deposition.
