摘要
This study examines the effect of a CEO's education and experience on the survival probability of peer‐to‐peer (P2P) platforms in China. Our empirical results show that the education level of the CEO is positively related to platform survival probability. Interestingly, CEO possession of an MBA degree does not have a significant effect on the survival probability of platforms. We also found that the CEO's experience does have a positive impact. Moreover, by separating platforms into state‐owned and nonstate‐owned groups, we find a discrepancy that the effects of the CEO's education and experience are less significant for state‐owned platforms.
