•PCNSL is a rare disease accounting for less than 3% of all brain tumors.•This study looked at the impact of SRS and MTX on the progression of tumor growth.•SRS treatment shows promising potential to treat PCNSL.•However, further randomized clinical studies are needed to determine specifications.
