Genetically Encoding Epsilon-N-Benzoyllysine In Proteins

Lysine epsilon-N-benzoylation is a recently identified PTM occurring on histone proteins, and herein we genetically encoded epsilon-N-benzoyl-lysine (BzK) into recombinant proteins in E. coli and mammalian cells, and applied it for the modification of histone proteins and the analysis of sirtuin debenzoylase activity.
