Yakaoren Village (Isparta) Gas Blow Out Risk Analysis and Modellings

A thermal drilling well was opened in 2008 to the Buyukkukurt Dere valley 1.5 km away from the village of Yakaoren, 5 km away from Isparta city center. The explosion, caused by the gas jam during the drilling studies, has come to fruition. After this explosion, CO2 and H2S gas discharge from the wastewater started, and the gas discharge was fatal to the human, animal and plant life in the vicinity. Conclusions of chemical analysis supporting the theories those are that the gases are related to the volcanism. If the gas continuously blow out how the biological life and human activities will be effected? Find an answer to the question is our aim of this study. Surface analysis did by using of GIS technics. Daily and yearly statistics of wind collected by an automatic weather station which has been put close to the gas well. This wind data associated with the surface analysis. Thus hazardous regions which put forward by climatic and geomorphological data has classed and mapped. It shows that if gases like CO2, H2S rates increase it will disperse to the crowded cities areas, farming areas, area with natural vegetation and made human and the other biological dead's.
