Heuristics for experimental physics learning

The purpose of this investigation was to assess a heuristic strategy as a problem solving mechanism in students of Physics Laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering, LUZ. The strategy was designed according to the context of experimental physics, based on the existing relationship between its elements and the problem solving method in order to fulfill the goal. Besides, aspects of its implementation were determined as well. An evaluative methodology with a quasi-experimental design was applied. Most of the students achieved a significant learning of Physics by applying heuristics in experimental problem solving, as a main result. Hence, they recognized heuristics as tool that contributes to the process of producing scientific knowledge.
