In Memoriam: Vincent L. Gott, MD (1927-2020)

Vincent L. Gott, MD, whose career in cardiac surgery spanned more than 60 years, died on November 20, 2020, in Charlottesville, Virginia, at age 93. As professor and cardiac surgeon-in-charge at The Johns Hopkins Hospital he was a role model for a generation of cardiothoracic surgeons who will remember him not only for his fundamental contributions to our specialty but also for his professionalism and genuine interest in and support of his colleagues and trainees.
