摘要

•Adeninium derivatives are interesting for pharmaceutical and optical applications.•Two new adeninium-based hybrid materials have been synthesized and characterized.•Complementary experimental and theoretical approaches are used in this work.•DFT calculations confirm the inorganic organic charge transfer.•The 3D packings are controlled by hydrogen bonds and electrostatic interactions.
