Hares, juvenile domesticates, structured deposition, and ritual in the Neolithic court tomb at Parknabinnia, Ireland

•Neolithic megalithic tomb in karstic landscape, with excellent bone preservation.•Faunal assemblage dominated by hare, with deposition of partly dismembered hares in one chamber and whole hares in the other.•Deposition of puppies, piglets and prenatal calf.•Contextual taphonomic analysis used to explore these patterns.•Evidence for ritual activity associated with fertility.
