摘要
Battery energy storage systems (BESSs) have gained the interest of power utilities due to their attractive characteristics, such as rapid response and decreasing price. The transportable battery energy storage systems (TBESSs) have also gained interest recently due to their mobile nature and the possibility to provide power storage services at different locations. However, some analysis must be provided in order to evaluate the impact on the distribution system depending on the TBESSs allocation. Among the possible outcomes, this paper aims to investigate the influence of TBESS on short-circuit characteristics of a typical distribution system. Thus, a TBESS was allocated at all three-phase buses of the IEEE 34-bus system, and the short-circuit results were obtained in all protective devices of the system. Several simulations were performed in PSCAD™/EMTDC™, and the results indicate that TBESS allocation can influence the short-circuit currents seen by the protective devices, as well as the grid voltage levels.
