Greener extraction process and enhanced in vivo bioavailability of bioactive components from Carthamus tinctorius L. by natural deep eutectic solvents

•22 NaDESs were screened for extraction of components from Carthamus tinctorius.•Under optimal condition, the yields of HSYA and ASYB were 32.83 and 8.80 mg/g.•Oral administrated l-Pro-Am extract increased HSYA and ASYB concentration in blood.•The relative bioavailabilities of HSYA and ASYB were calculated 183.5% and 429.8%.
