High-resolution multi-planar coherent diffraction imaging with multimode fiber source

•The speckle pattern of multimode fiber is used as the multimode illumination in our system, which can improve the reconstruction resolution and accelerate the convergence of the algorithm.•A static multi-plannar diffraction imaging system with multi-mode illumination based on the SLM is proposed.•The core diameter of a multimode fiber is usually only about 50–100 µm. Once the structure parameters are given, the output distribution of multimode fiber can be obtained by COMSOL Multiphysics.
