Pftom: a Blockchain based on Fingerprint

Traditional approach of blockchain requests system to generate private key by random algorithm. Then the system generates public key and wallet address through one-way algorithm. User in blockchain only needs to use his private key and public key to finish a transaction. Since this it faces problems that system couldn’t solve the situation that a stranger gets private key of a user, he can do any operation in blockchain as the user. This paper presents Pftom, a trading blockchain system based on fingerprint recognition. Pftom generates private key by randomly selecting a user’s input fingerprint image and creates a local fingerprint feature database to recognize the identity when a sensitive operation is being done. These improved the security of the system and lowered the cost of providing services than centralized transaction systems do. The proposed system was evaluated with two experiments on security and performance. We found Pftom can totally prevent others from logging in a user’s account. It can also hold a large number of concurrent transactions.
