An Approach To Combining Medical Device Fault Analysis With Trusted Computing Forensics

摘要
As medical devices become more digitalised, failures in those systems can no longer go uninvestigated. Current medical device failure are typically diagnosed through procedures relating to specific problems related to the physical operation of the device. Technologies such as trusted computing offer an additional layer of hardware and software resiliance and security and come with a potential vast array of diagnostic and forensic information in case of failure. The traditional methods of fault diagnosis will never catch firmware and software based attacks and even leave said devices in a vulnerable state even after repair. Utilising trusted computing forensics offers an opportunity to add security related diagnosis and protect the functionality of these devices.
