The proposed work aims to achieve an optimal balance between the power availability and cost incurred for the same through a novel technique by configuring a new hybrid form of Antlion, Salpswarm and Mothflame optimizations together. The analysis of power system comprising of pre-determined number of buses, lines and specific line and bus parameters is performed. A detailed study of the types, operation and response of power electronic device aided flexible ac transmission devices (FACTS) is carried out. The article deals with the implementation of such controllers in a bus system to improve the system loadability. Two types of FACTS devices namely Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor, Static Var Compensator and Unified Power Flow Controller are used in single and multiple type combinations in an IEEE 6 Bus system for improvement of the system loadability. The incorporation of new devices comes with extra cost involvement and the economics play a vital role in the power system studies. Therefore, the use of such controllers should be done in an optimal way. The main aim of this work is to optimize the location, type and rating of the FACTS devices and also maintain the system parameters like voltage stability and thermal loading within prescribed limits.
