Improving clinical encounters for transgender and gender expansive youth at Children’s Hospital Colorado

Background: In the United States, 0.7%-1.8% of youth identify as transgender (gender identity is different or opposite from sex assigned at birth). In Colorado, 28% of transgender adults have experienced harassment and violence in medical settings and postponed medical care when sick/injured due to discrimination.
