No single technique appears to be superior to any other for bulbar free graft urethroplasty. Both dorsal and ventral onlays are suitable for bulbar augmentation urethroplasty, with a recurrence rate of ≤20% over medium-term follow-up. No recommendations can be made regarding dorsal inlay or dorsolateral onlay techniques owing to the paucity of evidence. Secondary outcomes including sexual function and complications are infrequently reported. Recurrence rates deteriorate long-term for both dorsal and ventral onlay procedures.
