Geochronology, geochemistry and oxidation state of the Dongyuan biotite granite in the Jiangnan tungsten ore belt: Implications for the I-type granite-related W mineralization

•The Dongyuan biotite granite formed at 143.5 ± 0.7 Ma.•Ore-forming rock is I-type granite, derived from thickened lower crust.•I-type granite-related W deposits were controlled by magma source and evolution.•W-related rocks in the JNB were triggered by subducted Paleo-Pacific slab roll-back.
