A case study of a thermally ducted undular mesospheric bore accompanied by ripples over the western Himalayan region

摘要
•The first ground-based airglow imaging observation of an undular mesospheric bore with an undulating front over the western Himalayan region.•Satellite temperature measurements reveal that the thermal duct generated by the mesospheric inversion layer acted as a waveguide for the propagation of the mesospheric bore.•The faster dissipation of the bore structure is observed to be associated with neutral instability and weak thermal duct layer which prevents the long-distance horizontal propagation of the bore structure in the thermal duct region.
