摘要
Solid-phase extraction is widely used for the extraction and purification of a wide range of compounds, but severe problems such as a low recovery rate, low degree of purification, and poor reproducibility might occur on the solid-phase extraction of water-soluble compounds in aqueous solutions. To solve these problems, hydrophilic-lipophilic balanced-type extractants which were synthesized by co-polymerization with hydrophobic monomer and hydrophilic monomers have been developed. It is estimated that the wettability is improved by an introduced hydrophilic group on the hydrophobic resin, and thus better extraction properties for the water-soluble compounds are obtained. The extraction properties and the purification degree by the solid-phase extraction depend on the chemical and physical properties of solid-phase extractants, such as chemical structure, pore properties and residual functional groups. The authors synthesized solid-phase extractants having hydrophilic groups with different compositions and pore properties in house to evaluate effects of these chemical and physical properties of solid-phase extractants on the extraction properties of the water-soluble compounds. In this paper, the extraction characteristics for water-soluble compounds on the developed solid phase extractants having hydrophilic groups for reversed-phase mode and hydrophilic interaction mode are reviewed.
