Fabrication and optical properties of high-quality blue-emitting CsPbBr3 QDs-PMMA films

The blue-emitting CsPbBr3 quantum dots (QDs) have currently received widespread attention due to high photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs), but their instability mainly caused by self-aggregation or environmental erosion (i.e. moisture and oxygen) should be solved to gain more progress in further application. This paper presented a feasible approach to high-quality blue-emitting CsPbBr3 QDs-polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) films, in which PMMA provided a solid framework to protect CsPbBr3 QDs by the chelation between CO and Pb2+ ions, thus resulting in the stability of CsPbBr3 QDs. The CsPbBr3 QDs-PMMA films exhibited remarkable properties including water resistance, flexibility, deep-blue emission (465 nm), and comparatively high PLQY (45%). The blue LED fabricated by the films displayed a CIE coordinate (0.14, 0.10), which was corresponding to the standard blue CIE coordinate (0.14, 0.08) according to National Television System Committee (NTSC).
