The Novel Photo-Fenton-Like Few-Layer Mos2/Fevo4 Composite For Improved Degradation Activity Under Visible Light Irradiation

Photo-Fenton degradation of pollutants is considered to be a feasible method for eliminating the environmental pollution. However, traditional photo-Fenton catalyst still possessed unsatisfactory photocatalytic performance attributed to low separation efficiency of photo-generated electron-hole pairs. Herein, novel MoS2/FeVO4 nanorods composites were synthesized successfully via ionic liquid 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([OMim]Cl) assisted hydrothermal process. Compared with pure FeVO4, the introduction of MoS2 not only enhanced visible light absorption capacity but also specific surface area effectively. Furthermore, the recombination efficiency of photo-induced electron-hole pairs of MoS2/FeVO4 composite was decreased greatly ascribed to the construction of heterojunction. Consequently, the MoS2/FeVO4 composites performed an enhanced PhotoFenton catalytic activity for dye and antibiotic. The possible mechanism of MoS2/FeVO4 photo-Fenton degradation process was inferred based on a serious of characterizations and analysis. This work provided a new path to further expand the practical application of new-generation photo-Fenton-like catalysts.
