摘要
Evidence is accumulating proving the role of T regulatory cells (Tregs) in both psoriasis and atherosclerosis pathogenesis and treatment. Psoralen-ultraviolet A (PUVA) remains a standard line of therapy for psoriasis, particularly darker phototypes, whenever the risk-benefit ratio is waived carefully. Despite the well-known therapeutic effect of UV phototherapy on psoriasis cutaneous lesions, it is still unclear if its immunomodulatory function can positively impact cardiac comorbidities in patients with psoriasis, such as atherosclerosis.
