Development and validation of an analytical method for the multiresidue analysis of pesticides in sesame seeds using liquid- and gas chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry

•A method is reported for multiresidue analysis of 402 pesticides (+ metabolites) in sesame seeds.•Sample preparation involved acetonitrile extraction, freezing at -80°C & dispersive SPE cleanup.•The intra- & inter-lab validation results indicated a satisfactory method performance.•High throughput multiresidue analysis was performed using LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS.•The method is aligned with the new regulatory requirements of the EU for trade compliance.
