Identification of distinct seminal plasma cytokine profiles associated with male age and lifestyle characteristics in unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss

•A subgroup of men in couples with unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) have high pro-inflammatory seminal plasma expression profiles.•Men with the high pro-inflammatory seminal plasma profile are significantly older and have more unfavorable lifestyle characteristics.•Cytokine expression profiles in the seminal plasma may be useful for diagnostic and prognostic purposes in couples with unexplained RPL.
