Examining The Moderating Effect Of The Context Of Use On The Intention To Use A Personal Health Record: The Case Of A Digital Allergy Card

This study aims to develop and empirically test a theoretical extension of the Technology of Acceptance Model to adopt personal health records. This extension integrates the types of personal health records and the context of use in an experimental study to highlight a model of comparative adoption of different types of personal health records in various contexts. We use the scenario method. Scenarios are constructed according to the two-by-two composition between the type of personal health records (tethered vs. standalone) and the context of use (emergency vs. non-emergency). We will enrich the literature on adopting personal health records by empirically identifying contextual elements that can influence the adoption of one type of personal health record or another.
