摘要
Studies relating proactivity to well-being consequences remain scarce. This symposium brings together a series of papers that aim to address this gap and explore the consequences of proactivity for well-being outcomes. The four papers investigate how proactive behavior impacts individuals’ well-being, focusing on both hedonic (e.g., exhaustion) and eudaimonic (e.g., meaningfulness) forms of well-being. The papers highlight that the effects of proactivity on well-being are complex: they depend on individual behavior as well as on contextual factors, and on the time frame. While proactivity may deplete attentional resources on the same day, it may also promote the daily experience of meaningfulness, and build personal capabilities.
