Risk-taking behaviors of e-scooter users: A survey in Paris

•We undertake a survey to explore which human factors have influence on safety.•A significant minority of respondents engaged in risky behavior (smartphone use, RUI)•Young, male and frequent e-scooter users are more likely to develop risky behaviors.•The majority of the incidents, happened in nighttime and did not result to damages.•Time longer trips are associated with the development of risky behaviors.
