摘要

•The algae Fucus vesiculosus has a great potential due to its antioxidant activity.•CE and UAE are equally effective for obtaining antioxidant extracts.•A negative correlation among polyphenols and its antioxidant activity was obtained.•HPLC-DAD has proved to be a reliable tool to differentiate antioxidant extracts.
