The predictive value of DKI in breast cancer: Does tumour subtype affect pathological response evaluations?

•The pathological response rated differed among the four subtypes of breast cancer.•Patients who are ER and/or PR positive are likely to obtain higher MK values.•Non-Gaussian diffusion parameters were positively correlated with Ki67 expression.•Non-Gaussian diffusion model can predict PCR in HR+/HER2+ breast cancer before NAC.
