Bioinformatic Analysis Of Mstn Protein In Horse

To obtain some functional clues from the structures of MSTN protein. The physical and chemical properties, hydrophobicity/hydrophilicity, secondary structure, spatial structure and protein signal peptides were analyzed by using bioinformatics methods. Results showed that the MSTN protein is hydrophilic and unstable protein and the calculated molecular mass was 42.7 kD, and theoretical isoelectric point was 7.46. The main components in the protein secondary structure were extended strand, alpha-helix and Random coil. This study analyzed the signal peptide sequence of protein, found that it is secretory protein,which has signal structure and and the conserved sequence MQKLQICVYIYLFMLIVA which is the main feature of TGF-beta superfamily. This research futher confirmed the structural feature of TGF-beta superfamily members.
