Financial Analysis Of Solution Architectures: A User Study

Solution architectures are essential to companies because they respond to business concerns, operational requirements and enterprise architecture initiatives. Due to their importance, these solution architectures are financially analyzed to determine their profitability and justify their investment. This research aims to examine the practices used by professionals to analyze solution architectures financially. To do that, we conducted a series of surveys to identify and capture the feedback from the selected professionals that use financial analyses in their solution architectures. The study results highlight important issues that need to be taken into consideration to support financial analyses, improve industry practices, and reduce risks in technology investments.
