Consumer Attitudes Toward Genetically Modified Food In The Us: Are Millennials Different?
GLOBALIZATION: DEVELOPMENTS, OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES(2016)
摘要
Several studies have explained consumers' attitudes and purchase behavior regarding GM foods. Our study adds to the literature by focusing on Millennials, exploring possible generational shift that may have taken place in attitudes towards such products. Results suggest that younger consumers with higher education, especially knowledge of biotechnology, were more willing to accept GM. foods perceiving it perhaps with less risk and therefore more inclined to purchase them, compared to Non-Millennials. Within the former, male respondents. were more willing to purchase GM products and consequentially more supportive of encouraging GM technology compared to female respondents.
