Abstract
The deformation characteristics and stability of a reservoir landslide are related to water level. This paper used the Gougedian landslide as an example to investigate into the deformation evolution and stability analysis method of the landslides under water level fluctuation. The slope structure was established with lots of geotechnical investigations and geological data. The deformation evolution of the Gougedian landslide was investigated through GPS and extensometer monitoring. Finally, the relationship between the deformation and the rainfall and water fluctuation was analyzed through semi-quantitative interpretation. The present study comes to the conclusion that the Gougedian landslide is a retrogressive landslide. The deformation of the Gougedian landslide is backward relative to the reservoir. And the slide of the soil mass is mainly caused by the fall of the water level. The conclusions in this study provide effective support for the stability analysis of landslides in the Three Gorges Reservoir area.
