Searching A 3d Region For Surface Trimming

This paper presents a new method of region search for trimming triangulated surfaces. Cutting lines drawn on model surfaces are used to outline the shape of multiple 3D patches. To trim any patch, pick a point inside the patch, boundary cutting line loops of the patch and a base region composed with the triangles either inside or intersected with the boundary cutting line loops are searched out automatically. A patch is obtained by trimming the internal area from the base region with boundary cutting line loops. Super-lines and darts as special cutting lines are handled.
