摘要
Our recent studies have demonstrated that an adaptive periodogram technique (APT) can reveal high resolution time-frequency information for ionosphere scintillation signal carrier phase and signal intensity. In a previous case study, APT was applied to selected ionosphere scintillation data collected at Alaska (62.4 degrees N), Hong Kong (22.3 degrees N) and Singapore (1.4 degrees N). The results suggested that during large scale phase scintillation events, high frequency components tend to appear more often at high latitude regions than at low latitude and equatorial regions. The objective of this paper is to provide more evidence to support these observations, by presenting a quantitative analysis on the spectral characteristics of both high latitude and low latitude scintillations based on the cumulative data collected by the aforementioned sites.
