摘要
With the advancement of distributed generation (DG) technology, the dilemma arises in choosing the type of DG that can provide optimal gain and improvement in the system. This study compares solar and wind type of DGs on the basis of maximizing the percent reduction in power loss and improvement in the voltage profile of the system. The model used for both types of DG is assumed to be constant power factor lagging. The system considered in the study is the IEEE 37-bus test system. With the use of MATLAB, the methodology involves genetic algorithm for the optimal allocation and stochastic load flow application using backward-forward sweep method. Based on the optimization results, the 500-kW solar DG with optimal location at bus number 12 provides the highest active and reactive power loss reduction of 15.70% and 16.45%, respectively. The average total voltage deviation was improved from 1.1204 p.u. to 0.9999 p.u.
