摘要
As technology advances rapidly, the demand for smaller form factor and higher performance consumer electronics also increases drastically. Dual-stripline design is becoming more and more popular on account of the fact that it reduces the number of layers and cost of PCB which ultimately helps achieving smaller form factor. However, due to the fact that dual-stripline design does not have an extra metal reference layer in between two signal layers, far-end crosstalk becomes a critical issue that limits the performance of the whole system. Conventional methods of mitigating far-end crosstalk in dual-stripline are to increase the vertical distance and the horizontal offset between the two adjacent signal layers. In this paper, the effectiveness of vertical and horizontal distance offsets between single-ended dual-stripline is analyzed and improved estimation equations of FEXT are presented. Finally, a set of suggested optimized parameters of dual-stripline offsets is also proposed.
