Hypoglycaemia disturbs the night's sleep in bipolar patient Comorbidity diabetes and mania: how too much long-term insulin can cause manic decompensation

This article presents the case of a patient who developed a sleep disturbance after increasing long-term insulin because of nocturnal hypoglycaemia. After only a few nights, she decompensated manically. In this context, she refused both psychiatric and diabetological medication, which within a short period of time led to acute risks and need for somatic and psychiatric treatment.
