A New Method For Hrrp Motion Compensation Based On Twice Velocity Estimating

High-resolution range profile (HRRP) can be obtained through the stepped-frequency radar, keeping of the wideband receiver in wideband radars. However, HRRP is troubled by distortions, such as range profile shift, peak reduction, and point spread function spreading, which are caused by target radial motion, especially for the space targets with a high velocity. In this paper, a new motion compensation method based on twice velocity estimating is proposed for the stepped-frequency radar. Use the minimum entropy criterion and maximum pulses sum criterion to do twice velocity estimate, then the accurate velocity will be obtained. Simulation and practical echo processing results have proved the proposed method is able to reduce the range profile distortions effectively.
