Cultural ecosystem services caught in a ‘coastal squeeze’ between sea level rise and urban expansion

•We engaged historically underrepresented stakeholders in mapping cultural ES.•We mapped biophysical ES & urban growth + sea level rise (“coastal squeeze”).•Cultural ecosystem services faced greatest risk of decline from coastal squeeze.•Cultural and biophysical ecosystem services were rarely co-located.•Mapping cultural services allows for their explicit consideration in planning.
