Super-robust self-healing superhydrophobic coating with triboelectrification induced liquid self-repellency

•A super-robust self-healing superhydrophobic coating technique has been developed and can be applied on different substrates.•Liquid droplets can spontaneously jump/move off the surface as result of triboelectrification enhanced superhydrophobicity.•The coating shows excellent durability against various severe damages.•The coating can be self-recovered by short time heat treatment after chemical/physical damages.
