摘要

•Iridium complexes with C/N ratios spanning 3/3–0/6 were obtained.•1H NMR was used to determine the corresponding pKa of “rolled-over” Iridium(III) complexes.•Protonation of pendant pyridine moiety strongly influenced excited-state behavior.•Iridium complexes were competent for excited-state electron transfer with hydroquinone and benzoquinone.
