Synthesis And Characterization Of Monophenylarsenic(Iii) Derivatives Of N-(Alkyl)-2-Mercaptoacetamides

N-(Alkyl)-2-mercaptoacetamide derivatives of monophenylarsenic(III) of the type PhAs(SCH2CONHR)Cl and PhAs(SCH2CONHR)2 (where R = C2H5, n-C3H7, n-C4H9, i-C4H9 and sec-C4H9) have been synthesized by the reactions of PhAsCl2 and the mercaptoacetamides in 1:1 and 1:2 molar ratios respectively. Their structural assignments have been made on the basis of elemental analysis, molecular weight determination and IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR spectral studies.
