Analysis of kinetic energy recovery system based on inertial flywheel

摘要
Automotive industry consumes a lot of energy in the vehicle quality testing section. This kinetic energy is wasted during the acceleration and deceleration of the test rollers, which represents high costs of the fuel used to carry out the tests. The kinetic energy stored in the rollers has a usable energy potential to recover in a way that represented a secondary energy resource. This paper analyzes an alternative of a recovery system of kinetic energy based on an inertial flywheel, based on three stages, firstly, the analysis, design, and sizing of the flywheel. Secondly, modeling of the electromechanical system and sizing of the DC generator. Finally, as a third stage, the management of the energy recovered in a DC-DC converter for storing the energy.
