摘要

•Doped colorized ZnO-nanosilica samples were prepared and tested.•Photoluminescence properties are dependent on doped ZnO crystallites size.•All the samples have exhibited visible light-induced activity.•k2-s of photocatalytic degradation were up to 37 times higher than photolysis.•Photocatalytic processes have involved h+, OH and O2− equally.
