I am hoping we can finally put an end to the COVID-19 pandemic and resume our normal lives. In-person meetings are become the norm again and the virtual platform, an option. I have learned so much this year from the countless articles that have been submitted to Bariatric Surgical Practice and Patient Care. Our editorial board and I have been working to improve the process of getting articles reviewed in a timely manner, recruiting new reviewers, and improving the quality of the articles in the journal. I thank all our reviewers once again for all their arduous work.We have an exciting line up of articles from around the world in this issue of Bariatric Surgical Practice and Patient Care. Our lead article is from New Zealand and is a systematic review and meta-analysis of the effects of augmenting bariatric surgery with vagotomy. Another fascinating study is an article on conversion of sleeve gastrectomy to Roux-en-Y gastric bypass to enhance weight loss: single enterprise midterm outcomes and literature review from the United States and United Arab Emirates. As most meetings have returned to in person, I hope to meet many of our wonderful authors, reviewers, and journal subscribers in person. As always, please stay safe and vigilant and I hope you have a productive and joyful winter.Sincerely, Dean J.
