Predicting national-scale tile drainage discharge in Denmark using machine learning algorithms

•Machine learning algorithms Random Forest and Cubist can predict the tile drainage discharge with a high accuracy.•Resampling methods have a significant impact on the model performance.•Precipitation and Elevation are the most important predictor variables for the prediction of tile drainage discharge.
