摘要
•The mathematical models between processing parameters and groove width/depth are established by response surface methodology.•The groove surface is wavy accumulation due to the sputtering of liquid phase material.•The hydrophilicity of laser patterned magnesium alloy is enhanced due to the increase of surface free energy and roughness.•After laser patterning, the corrosion area between sample and corrosive medium is enlarged, and its corrosion resistance is reduced.
