Hyperspectral imaging for early identification of strawberry leaves diseases with machine learning and spectral fingerprint features

•Non-destructive method to automate the detection of early diseases in strawberry leaves.•Fingerprint spectral features were explored for disease identification.•Six classification models were compared to identify anthracnose and gray mold.•Optimum results were achieved in most classifiers.
